characters. company. actors. troupe. players.
As a general rule, I don't like to make my characters up on the spot. I don't mind if you do, to each their own, but I find my characters are more well-rounded, their backstories more complete, and their personalities more... well, figured out the longer I play them.
That being said, I have cast of nine men and nine women that I consider to be primary characters. There are more than that, but I wanted to break them down evenly. If you click through, you'll notice that I have my primary characters broken down by personality, via moral alignment: good, evil, neutral, lawful, and chaotic. Including secondaries, I have some 75+ characters that I play interchangeably on an "as needed" basis. I find that having a full cast of secondaries, complete with backstories, make the story a little more fun. Play a character each is great, but why not include NPCs that help move the story forward, aid in creating character arcs, and bring in interactions that you would otherwise not see? The primary characters listed on this site are what I consider "ready-to-go." They are fully formed with likes, dislikes, histories, intricate backstories amongst themselves, strengths, weaknesses, and unique quirks. Please note, I don't list everything about them on here. I like to keep some secrets, and I am a pretty firm believer of letting you find out their story through writing. |
